We’ve been really busy behind the scenes getting this record ready for release. Due to Creative Scotland for giving us funding for the project (thank you!), we’ve been able to not only push ourselves creatively but also work with some very experienced musicians and engineers. We’d been fans of Rafael Anton Isarri for a while now and when we found out that he also has his own mastering studio, Black Knoll Studio, and saw the labels and artists he’s worked with (Ghostly International, Loscil etc), he was always our first choice for mastering the record. We got in touch with him at the start of June asking if he would consider mastering the album and sent him a few tracks from the record – luckily he really liked what he heard!
Since we’d started discussing this record, when I was still living on Coll, I always wanted to involve my good friend Ross Evans in some way. Knowing he was a really good graphic designer who had a superb taste in music (would play Pavement, Teenage Fanclub etc at work and in the car) I wanted him to help create the artwork for the record. I won’t give any clues away yet, but all I can say is that both myself and Mike are delighted with what he has produced – all will be revealed soon!
